A federal judge has maintained the murder conviction of C-Murder. The Source said on Wednesday, Nov. 29, that C-Murder's habeas petition was denied by U.S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance. Rapper Corey Miller, along with his legal representative, attempted to have the 2009 conviction that found him guilty of shooting and killing Steve Thomas overturned. The 16-year-old Thomas was killed at the Platinum Club in New Orleans.
Darnell and Kenneth Jordan were the two witnesses to the murder who provided testimony about what happened. They remembered witnessing Thomas being killed by the No Limit performer at the club. In 2009, C-Murder was subsequently given a life sentence.
In 2018, the two men withdrew their testimony, claiming that Miller's conviction was the result of coercion by law enforcement.
